Maharashtra recorded 6,397 new cases of coronavirus today, taking the state’s tally of total cases to 21,61,467.

According to the state’s public health department, 5,754 patients were discharged today, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,30,458. With 30 fatalities, the state's death toll has risen to 52184.

The number of active cases in the state stands at 77,618.

Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 93.94 percent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.41 percent. Currently, 3,43,947 peoples are in-home quarantine and 3,482 people are in institutional quarantine.

With 855 new cases, Mumbai’s caseload has increased to 3,26,770. The city reported 876 recoveries and four deaths during the day.
