Maharashtra reports fresh Covid cases

Maharashtra’s Coronavirus tally today surged by 4,981 cases, taking the total number of cases to 18,64,348. According to the State’s public health department, the total number of recoveries jumped by 5,111 to 17,42,191. The State reported 75 fatalities, taking the death toll to 47,902. The number of active patients stands at 73,166.

Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 93.45 per cent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.57 per cent. Maharashtra has conducted 1.14 crore tests so far and the positivity rate stands at 16.29 per cent.

Mumbai’s caseload increased by 716 new cases to 2,87,898. While 15 people succumbed to the infection as per the report, a total of 622 patients were discharged post-recovery. The number of active cases has increased to 12,168.
