You don’t need to always turn to allopathic drugs to cure mild illnesses.

Your cure for minor health issues like indigestion, common cold, toothache etc. lies in your kitchen. Instead of running to the doctor and scurrying for OTC medicines, just head to your kitchen and make use of these spices and herbs to get over the symptoms.

Fresh or dried, chillies are said to help respiratory system and heart. A herb called Sage is said to aid digestion, combat stress and work like a nervous system tonic. Camomile is said to help against tension and insomnia. Turmeric helps if you are suffering from catarrh. Cloves is believed to be antiseptic and anti-inflammatory spice that is often used to ease toothache.

The antiseptic and stimulant properties of Cinnamon are said to fight off cold and flu. Infusions of Parsley can be helpful against fluid retention. Thyme when used as infusion works as an antiseptic and a stimulant to the body’s natural resistance. Try a Mint infusion after a rich meal or when you have a stomach upset.

Foods mixed with Mustard give relief from cold and flu symptoms. Fresh or dry Ginger Root is said to stave off cold and nausea. An infusion of Marjoram relieves you of cold, indigestion and minor respiratory infection.
