Heavy dinner contributes to weight gain

It is a well-known fact that one of the reasons of wight gain is eating heavy to digest foods at night or just before going to sleep. Through the day, the body is active, and can digest food easily. The energy produced is used in the activities you perform throughout the day.

During the sluggish hours of sleep, the body is simultaneously trying to do what it’s meat to do. Rest and repair. And what it now additionally needs to do is digest the large quantity of dinner that you had.

When you are asleep your basal metabolic rate drops. It slows down the process of digestion of food and absorption of nutrients. So what’s the best time to have dinner? Well, according to experts and doctors the answer is a minimum two hours before bedtime. This makes the idea time for dinner to be between 8 pm and 8.30 pm.

The stomach then has enough time to digest and process the food before the body begins to get sluggish. This prevents food getting converted into fat.
