In UP, medical students to study spirituality along with medicine

In order improve patient-doctor relations, authorities have decided to run spirituality and morality classes.

With an objective to curb misbehaviour of the doctors and reduce patient-doctor clashes in the hospitals, the medical education department of Uttar Pradesh has taken an innovative step. It has decided to give some spiritual and morality lessons to the medical students.

The step is taken as a part of overhauling the medical education system in the state. Spiritual classes have been compulsory for all the MBBS and post graduate students. The lectures will be given by life coaches and experts in these fields to sensitise students towards their profession.

The classes are expected to help the students to overcome the stress and tension arising out of hard and often gruelling medical education. The students tend to vent their ire on their patients and attendants.
