Over 1,500 workers stuck in Haryana due to the coronavirus lockdown were brought to Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, an official said. They were brought in 62 buses to the UP border from where they were taken to their destinations, the official said, adding that they were provided with food packets. The workers will be screened for Covid-19 and kept in 14-day quarantine.
He said a report about a suspected coronavirus patient, who was proceeding to Fatehpur from Karnal, has been sought from Haryana leading to hospitalisation of the person and quarantine of his two associates.
Meanwhile with UP death toll nearing 30 ,Joint Police Commissioner Naveen Arora has prohibited strict and different social affairs, butchering of animals and transport of meat under Section 144 of the CrPC.

The order will stay in power till May 30 or till another order is given by police in such manner, Arora added. This comes in the midst of across the nation lockdown due to of COVID-19.
