The Congress accuses Hardeep Singh Puri of not making a transparent statement about the resumption of air services

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has relaxed Visa and Travel restrictions imposed in response to COVID -19, permitting certain categories of Overseas Citizen Of India (OCI) cardholders, who are stranded abroad, to come to India.

Following categories of OCI Cardholders stranded abroad, have been permitted to come to India:-

Minor children born to Indian nationals abroad and holding OCI cards.

OCI cardholders who wish to come to India on account of family emergencies like a death in the family.

Couples where one spouse is an OCI cardholder and the other is an Indian national and they have a permanent residence in India.

University students who are OCI cardholders (not legally minors) but whose parents are Indian citizens living in India.

The travel restrictions, imposed earlier by MHA on 07.05.2020, would not apply to any aircraft, ship, train or any other vehicle deployed for bringing back the above-mentioned categories of OCI cardholders who are stranded abroad.  All other terms and conditions laid down by MHA on 07.05.2020 would continue to remain in effect.

The Congress (Congress) targeted Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, accusing him of not making a transparent statement about the resumption of air services. The Congress said on Thursday that Hardeep Puri should speak clearly within the context of compliance of social distance.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also questioned what happened to 'Jaan hai to jahan hai'? He shared a news tweet, 'Do you mean to require care of social distance or not? Is it safe or dangerous to seat people on all seats? He said that the Minister of Aviation provides a clear statement.

Surjewala, consistent with the alleged news, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday that albeit the center seat is left within the plane, social distance needs aren't met. Therefore, the ride is going to be seated within the middle seat.

It is important to notice that the govt has decided to revive air services gradually from May 25. The operation of economic passenger flights has been suspended since March 25 thanks to the lockdown implemented to stop the spread of corona viral infection.

Indian Railways has given good news for passengers. Now, the Ministry of Railways won't need to take the permission of any state to run Shramik Special Train and therefore the Railway Ministry will have full authority to require decisions. After this decision, now the railways won't need to await the permission of the states and therefore the center is going to be ready to run more and more trains, during which more passengers are going to be ready to travel than before.

Actually, thus far it's come that the consent of both the states was necessary for running the labor special trains. That is, the state from which the migrants would move, the state had to urge the consent of the state to which the migrants want to return, and before the departure of the train, a replica of it had to be provided to the railways. thanks to the attrition of states, an outsized number of trains couldn't run.

But now the middle has issued a typical procedure (SOP) on transport between stranded migrant laborers and their home states. Under this SOP, the state will mark the officers responsible and make necessary arrangements to send or bring migrants.
