Differences over the decision in the committee

While the WHO said in a separate statement that there are differences of opinion within the committee, but overall at this time everyone is in agreement that this outbreak is not a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

Corona and polio are 'global emergency'

Let us tell you that the 'Global Emergency' has been decided only and only to eliminate the coronavirus epidemic and polio from the root. This decision of WHO came after consultations on monkeypox in the meeting of international experts.

Monkeypox spread in 48 countries

According to the WHO, more than 3200 cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in 48 countries in the last 6 weeks and so far 1 person has died due to this virus. Monkeypox has spread in countries where it has never usually spread. So far this year, about 1500 cases have been reported in Central Africa and 70 people have died from monkeypox. This disease is very common in Central Africa. The disease was mainly spread in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

What is monkeypox?

Monkeypox is a type of viral disease in which a person experiences flu-like symptoms and skin rashes. This disease mostly spreads to men who have sex with other men. There is a vaccine and treatment available for monkeypox, although its supply is limited.

WHO shocked at the decision

Some health experts believe that the WHO is being too hasty about the announcement because, in January 2020, the coronavirus was also declared a public health emergency, which shook the world. While some say that monkeypox meets all the criteria for an emergency.
