To mark National Vitamin C Day, Abbott, a global healthcare leader, has launched a high‑impact, integrated awareness campaign across India highlighting the vital role of Vitamin C in overall wellness, including immunity, skin and bone health.

The campaign brings together multiple high‑engagement platforms to drive mass awareness. As part of the initiative, Abbott has collaborated with influencers like Mithila Palkar to create relatable digital content (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWsyyueiPXw) that simplifies the science behind Vitamin C and its everyday health benefits. This is further supported by a targeted radio outreach, featuring bytes from healthcare professionals sharing evidence‑based insights to reinforce the importance of adequate Vitamin C intake.

Commenting on the campaign, Dr Ankith Rai, Associate Director for Medical Affairs at Abbott India, said, “Vitamin C is essential for keeping our immunity strong, supporting healthy skin, and helping protect the body from daily stress. However, nearly 30% Indians may not get enough Vitamin C from their regular dieti. Through this campaign, we aim to inspire people to take small, simple steps toward stronger immunity, healthier skin, and better bone health.”

The campaign builds on insights from Abbott’s 2024 pan‑India survey with IPSOSii, Healthy Living: The Role of Vitamin C, conducted across nine cities, which revealed a growing consumer focus on immunity and preventive health. The survey highlighted that nearly 7 out of 10 consumers associate good health with immunity, high energy levels, and performing daily activities without difficulty. Some of the key insights also included:

  • 52% of respondents said consuming vitamin C supplements during rainy and winter seasons resulted in less sick days
  • 61% of women found vitamin C beneficial in faster recovery from illness
  • 65% of respondents perceive that vitamin supplements help in maintaining overall health, and 52% are of the opinion that it can help maintain bone and joint health

These findings further align with research studies on vitamin C and its role in supporting immune function and fighting infections. Making Vitamin C a part of one’s daily diet can help people get and stay healthy by building a stronger immune system. Reinforcing its science‑led approach, Abbott continues to advance preventive healthcare initiatives to help people live healthier, fuller lives.
