Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Wednesday that the coming years will belong to those who have invested in healthcare and said he is proud of the work his government has done to strengthen the sector in the last eight years.
Modiji made the remarks while responding to a government portal's tweet about the highlights of his administration's efforts in this critical area of human development.
It stated that around 3.26 crore people received free medical treatment through Ayushman Bharat, a health insurance scheme for the poor, that six new AIIMS were operationalized, that the world's "largest, fastest, and first-ever digital" vaccination drive was launched to combat Covid and that the number of medical colleges had increased by 55% since 2014.
It is also planned to establish one medical college in each district.
Modiji stated The coming years will belong to those who have invested in healthcare." I am proud of the work our government has done to strengthen the healthcare sector in India."
The prime minister also shared a story from his app, focusing on "game changers" driving a futuristic healthcare revolution.
It stated that citizens now have access to quality healthcare that is both affordable and accessible. Medical expenses were previously a significant economic burden for low-income households, frequently leading to debt traps, according to the report.
"By launching the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the world's largest health insurance program, the Modi government provided permanent relief from this burden to nearly 18 crore households in 2018."
The 'PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and the 'Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission' were mentioned as two other important programs that will shape India's healthcare future.
"One of our primary focus areas is healthcare." "The last eight years have been about improving health infrastructure, ensuring affordable and high-quality healthcare for all Indians, and integrating technology into this sector," prime minister Modi Ji said on Twitter.
The eighth anniversary of the Modi government fell on May 30, and the prime minister has been sharing governance highlights from various fields to mark the milestone.
