In this study conducted by the Energy Policy Institute (EPIC) of the University of Chicago, it has been told that Delhi is the most polluted city in the world. It has also been said in this report that due to air pollution, the lives of the people of North India are being deeply affected. It has been said in this study that the average 7.6 years of life of about 51 crore people living in North India are being reduced due to pollution. The report says that air pollution is affecting people's lives three times more than the effect caused by drinking alcohol and drinking dirty water.

This study conducted by EPIC states that the 5 major states affected by pollution in India are Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Tripura. India's position in terms of pollution is worse than Nepal and Pakistan. In this report of EPIC, it has been said that due to air pollution in the whole world, the people of India are having the biggest health impact. In the year 2013, the level of air pollution in India was 53 micrograms per cubic meter in India, which has now increased to 56 micrograms per cubic meter.
