Supertails vaccinates 300 dogs and cats against rabies across Bengaluru in a three-day World Rabies Day drive

All pets were welcome at a flat ₹49 per shot, and every vaccinated community pet received a reflective collar showing its vaccination date.

Bengaluru, October 1, 2026: Supertails, India’s trusted digital-first pet care brand, vaccinated 300 dogs and cats against rabies at its 12 clinics in Bengaluru from 28 to 30 September 2026, under its "No Rabies for Namma Babies" drive. The drive began on World Rabies Day, 28 September, and was open to owned pets and community (street) pets for a flat ₹49 per pet.

The drive ran at the Supertails clinics in Koramangala, Banashankari, Brookefield, Whitefield, Rajajinagar, RMV, RT Nagar, Kalyan Nagar, KR Puram, Singasandra, Bannerghatta and Indiranagar.  Feeders, rescuers, residents' welfare associations (RWAs) and NGOs brought in the community dogs and cats they look after. Typically, streeties have no one booking their shots, and feeders and rescuers usually pay out of pocket for vaccinations. With walk-ins accepted, the drive removed both the cost and the paperwork for them. Every animal was checked by a vet before the shot and observed for 15 minutes after it.

Every dog and cat received a Nobivac anti-rabies shot, a vaccination sticker in its vaccination book, a free reflective collar showing the date of vaccination, and a record on the Supertails clinic system. The collar shows neighbours that the animal has had its shot and makes it easier for drivers to spot the animal on the road at night. Pet parents, rescuers and feeders could walk in at any clinic between 10 AM and 7 PM on all three days, or book through the Supertails platform.

Commenting on the initiative, Vineet Khanna, Co-Founder, Supertails said, “Rabies is fatal once it shows symptoms, in animals and in people, and yet it is entirely preventable with a timely vaccine. What usually stands in the way is access, especially for community dogs and cats who have no one booking their shots. We ran this drive last year with that in mind, and it is now an annual initiative for us. This time, it was heartening to see feeders and pet parents come together for the animals they share their streets with. Keeping these animals safe works best as a community effort, and we want our clinics to be where that effort comes together.”

Rabies is effectively 100% fatal once symptoms appear, in animals and people alike, and vaccination is the only protection. According to the World Health Organization, dogs cause the large majority of human rabies cases worldwide, and India has set a national goal to end dog-mediated human rabies deaths by 2030. In Bengaluru, the BBMP requires proof of anti-rabies vaccination before issuing a pet dog licence. Through initiatives like this, Supertails aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible and help the city's animal welfare community carry on its vital work with greater ease and confidence.
