Holi signifies plenty of colors. If you have indulged in playing with colors this season, then there could be many side effects of colors on the skin. Taking precautions before Holi in indulging safe organic and natural colors is a good idea. However, if you have failed to do so, you might suffer from a skin allergy, rashes, and many other skin problems. There is no doubt that Holi is one of the popular festivals but there are many side effects because of the use of colors that are bright, synthetics, and full of chemicals. These colors can be toxic to the skin and can result in pigmentation, rashes, skin allergies.

Since Holi is played outdoors, there are higher chances of being exposed to the sun which can lead to a chemical reaction on the skin due to UV radiation and can lead to sunburn and tanning.  Dehydration is another skin problem in which there is depletion of skin moisture. The skin becomes dry and dull after playing Holi.  The dry “Gulaal”  and wet colors are not derived from natural sources. They contain chemicals and shiny particles of mica and lead which can cause a detrimental effect on the skin

Holi colors can be toxic not only for your skin but also for your hair. It can make your hair dry and lustreless after indulging in playing Holi. Your locks need special before and aftercare to avoid any excessive hair fall, dry hair, and itching of the scalp after using colors. Also getting rid of colors after Holi from hair can be a task. Hair tends to lose its texture after exposure to Holi colors. Holi colors can lead to severe hair loss or a low density of hair on the scalp.

Here is a solution for the healthy maintenance of hair during Holi
