Paper bags are a very good alternate for carrying and storing a wide range of food items. In addition to strong and durable, they are also very cheap. Papers are decomposable hence they are eco-friendly. Paper bags are recyclable and can be reused on several occasions, provided they are taken care of. Paper bags are made up of mainly craft paper. Paper bags are commonly used as shopping bags, for packaging food items, etc. Traditionally paper bags were made of old newspapers after reusing them. 

Evolution of Plastic Bags

Paper bags came long back in the year 1852. It was easy to mass-produce paper bags with the help of a machine. After the introduction of plastic bags in the 1970s, they have replaced paper bags as the first choice for all grocery bags. It was a very much successful invention of that time and has brought the revolution in carrying or packaging bags. Plastic bags were much cheaper than paper bags. Without knowing the adverse effect of these bags people were using at full-fledged. Nowadays the trend of a paper bag is coming again in many ways. People have started realizing the importance of paper over plastic. Hence, they are again switching back to old ones.

When we store food in a plastic bag, the chemicals with which the plastic bag is made can react with the food item and infect them. Studies have shown that these chemicals have shown a very bad effect on our body such as tissue changes, genetic damage, early puberty, and hormonal changes. Experts suggest switching to paper bags or high-grade polyethylene bags for a healthy body.

Food items can be stored very well in these paper bags.

Tea Leaves – Paper bags are the first line of choice for storing and preserving fresh tea leaves. By maintaining the freshness of tea leaves, we can upgrade the potency otherwise it will have a bad impact on taste. These tea bags contain a polylactic lining that is biodegradable, thus helps in preserving.

Cashews and Nuts – Snacks like nuts have properties to drop their freshness, aromas, and flavor if not packed in an appropriate tied bag or box. Lined paper bags are a very easy and economical solution for maintaining the freshness of food items. These inside liners also help to protect the food from outside adverse effects. These snacks are being preserved for a long time and have their individual health benefits provided the flavors and freshness are protected.

Spices – Paper bags are very much appropriate to pack spices. Food items tend to lose their freshness and potency if not stored properly. When it comes to spices, it becomes very much important to preserve the oil content present in them. Packaging spices in paper bags are a very useful choice to maintain the characteristics of them.

Paper bags are 100% biodegradable, reusable, and recyclable.

It doesn't react with the food item and maintains the efficacy of the product.

Paper bags do not create pollution as compared to the plastic bag.

Whether you want to store fresh ingredients in the home kitchen or want to pack any food item for traveling purposes, paper bags should be the first choice for all of us. Paper bags are environment-friendly, easily decomposable whereas Plastic bag takes too long to decompose as well create pollution. Think of the environment first, before buying plastic items. Say ‘NO’ to plastics.
