This strategic focus on improving care during the perinatal period and the first week of life is crucial for ensuring every child’s survival and optimal development.

In a significant stride towards ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and children, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the state government’s commitment to enhancing the infrastructure of district hospitals. This initiative, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, reflects a dedicated effort to bolster healthcare services across the region.

During the inauguration of the new Maternal & Child Health (MCH) wing at Gomati District Hospital in Udaipur, Chief Minister Saha underlined the importance of investing in healthcare infrastructure, particularly in district hospitals. With approximately Rs 9 crore allocated for this purpose, the government aims to create a robust health system that prioritizes the needs of mothers and children.

Highlighting healthcare as a key focus area since the formation of the government, Chief Minister Saha emphasized the pivotal role of a strong health system in driving overall development and growth. He commended the tireless efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which saw significant challenges overcome through cohesive action and adherence to directives.

The successful discovery and deployment of two vaccines highlighted the government’s commitment to public health and safety. Leveraging the Prime Minister’s directives, Tripura continues to advance its healthcare agenda, with initiatives including the construction of 100 Primary Health Care centres and the establishment of projects such as the Dental College, Nursing College, and introduction of super-speciality services.

Chief Minister Saha also lauded the peaceful environment in Tripura, attributing it to the state’s growing appeal to investors seeking to establish hospitals. He noted a significant shift from past instances of violence, highlighting the government’s proactive measures to maintain law and order, particularly during the electoral process.

The presence of Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Rampada Jamatia, and other health officials showcases the collective commitment to advancing Tripura’s healthcare landscape. With a focus on infrastructure development, strategic investments, and proactive governance, Tripura aims to position itself as a medical hub, providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services to its residents.

This concerted effort towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure not only reflects the government’s commitment to public health but also highlights the transformative potential of collaborative governance in driving positive change. As Tripura embarks on this journey towards healthcare excellence, it stands poised to set new benchmarks in maternal and child health, ensuring a healthier and more prosperous future for all its citizens.
