The United States is now home to more cases of Covid-19 than any other country in the world, surpassing both Italy and China, where the outbreak first originated.
As of Friday, more than 100,000 people have been diagnosed with the disease in the US alone – including five members of Congress.
The biggest cluster by far is in New York, home to almost half the cases.In the UK, 14,500 people have tested positive with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Health Secretary Matt Hancock clocking in as two of the most high profile cases of the day.
The total number of coronavirus cases across the globe is expected to exceed 600,000 over night.
