Where Does Migraine Pain Occur?

A migraine is a severe headache that can affect a person's daily life. Migraine pain can affect many parts of head. Let us check the possible migraine pain issues in different parts of the head.

Migraine has become a common problem nowadays. This is a type of severe headache. In this condition, the pain occurs on one side of the head. Migraines can cause throbbing pain. Apart from this, nausea, vomiting, and increased sensitivity to sound can also be symptoms of migraine pain. Migraine pain can be extremely severe and unbearable at times. This pain can last from a few minutes to hours to days. Migraine pain can be so severe that a person's daily functions can also be affected. It may also affect mental health. 

Where Does Migraine Pain Occur?

One side of the head

Pain on one side of the head is known as a migraine. If you are experiencing pain on one side of the head, be it left or right (unilateral), then it is considered as migraine. In 80% of the patients, migraine is a unilateral pain occuring on one side of head. You should not ignore this situation at all. Pain on one side of the head can be severe and debilitating. In this condition, the daily life and activities of patient might get affect detoriating the quality of life. This pain can last from a few hours to days.

Behind the eyes

When a migraine starts taking a severe form, the pain can be felt behind the eyes. So if you are having pain behind your eyes, then do not ignore it. Pain behind the eyes may seem common in the beginning. But, gradually this pain can increase and turn complicated. Pain behind the eyes can also spread to the rest of your head. In some cases, the pain behind the eyes also becomes the cause of vision loss due to migraine. 

Back of head

During a migraine attack, you may also have pain in the back of the head. Migraines can badly affect the back of the head which is the occiput region. Pain in the back of the head can extend to the neck and shoulders. In this situation, a person may have to face many problems. The person may feel a throbbing pain in the head which may also cause increase of blood pressure. 

Although it is normal to have occasional headaches. But, some people have to face severe headaches during migraine attacks. So, if you are facing chronic migraine issues, it is important to address it before its too late.
