Monkeypox has created an alarming situation. Let us check what WHO Director-General Tedros Aghanom Ghebreyesus speaks about Monkeypox. This is the new monkey pox update.

WHO Director-General Tedros Aghanom Ghebreyesus has said that more than 1000 cases of monkeypox have been reported worldwide. Tedros Aghanom Ghebreyesus said these 10 big things.

The World Health Organization has issued a warning regarding monkeypox, saying that in countries where cases of this disease have been reported, this danger is real and the number of cases has crossed 1000. During a media briefing in Geneva, WHO Director-General Tedros Aghanom Ghebreyesus said that more than 1000 cases of monkeypox have been reported worldwide.

Cases of monkeypox are also being reported outside Africa. Tedros has said however that this situation is preventable and urged the affected countries to do their best to identify all the cases that have been reported and do their best to stop the spread of the disease. Let us know some important things related to the monkeypox virus.

1- WHO has registered more than a thousand monkeypox cases so far from 29 countries, where this disease is currently spreading. Most cases and suspects of monkeypox have been reported in Europe.

2- So far no news of any death has been reported in the countries affected by this viral disease.

3-Not all cases of monkeypox have been reported only in men. In some countries, there has been an outbreak of this disease at the community level, in which women have also become victims.

4- Tedros says that in many such countries, where monkeypox is spread, cases are suddenly coming up, which shows that this virus can spread at any time. But in how many days it will spread, we do not know.

5- The society we are living in is showing the unfortunate reflection of the world. The international community is only paying attention to monkeypox because its cases are being reported only in high-income countries.

6-Issuing a warning, he said that there are signs of community spread of this virus in some countries, so people who have monkeypox should be isolated in their homes.

7-It is very worrying that monkeypox is spreading in countries where it has never been seen before.

8- The WHO says that the monkeypox virus has been spreading and killing people in Africa for decades.

9-The vaccine currently being used for this disease is named smallpox, which was the most deadly disease in the 1980s. However, it has become clear in studies that it also provides protection against monkeypox.

10- The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has meanwhile said that the total number of cases of monkeypox has increased to 1200 worldwide.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has dismissed all speculation that monkeypox is a global health emergency, although the institute's director Tedros Aghanom Ghebreyesus says he is seriously concerned about the outbreak of the disease. Tedros said in a statement that I am deeply concerned about the monkeypox outbreak. It has certainly emerged as a health hazard, which is why I and my WHO colleagues are closely monitoring it.
