YourDOST – startup that provides a listening ear like a friend

▴ YourDOST lends a listening ear
YourDOST is an online emotional support platform that is designed to foster mental wellness through online counselling. If you are in need of a listening ear, you can share all your concerns with someone anonymous who would listen without being judgmental and provide you expert emotional advice and support.

YourDOST is the brainchild of Richa Singh and Puneet Manuja who have co-founded the platform so that stressed people can connect with the right expert from a rich panel of psychologists, psychotherapist, life coaches, counsellors and career coaches in completely confidential individual sessions.

Mental health has been an issue for quite some time in our country. It's now that people are gathering enough strength to reach out for professional help. YourDost is a powerful way of getting counselling related to well-being, relationships, self-improvement, sexual wellness, career and any other issue that might be worrying you.

How it works

You are provided with broad choices of issues that you want to discuss on YourDOST platform so that you are able to avail the advice from specific subject matter expert. There are also wide array of choices of experts along with their details and timings of availability so that you can choose the one whom you want to share your story and dilemmas with. These panel of experts are from different parts of India. You can choose text based, audio or video session plans.

YourDOST care plan has been designed in such a way that it is affordable and hence enables more and more people to access the services. Counselling happens through a gradual process wherein the person in need and the counsellor work towards understanding the challenges that are being faced and so that finding unique solutions becomes easy. Maintaining continuity and connecting with the same expert over multiple sessions, helps in achieving the goals successfully. A standard counselling session at YourDost is for 45 minutes, keeping with the international standards in mind. The startup was launched in July 2015 and since then have won many accolades, award and appreciations for doing good to the society. It has displayed enough support in dealing with mental health issues during the ongoing COVID crisis. The founders have had the honour to appear in the Forbes 30 under 30 list as well.
