5 Diet tips for a better eye health

Eye health is important for our life. Here are some tips that can help you keep your vision and eye healthy

Poor eye health has long been a serious concern around the globe. The pandemic has increased the use of mobile phones, televisions, and other technologies, which results in several eye problems which are becoming prevalent problem. Other eye-related issues such as dry eyes, cataracts, macular degeneration, and more are also on the rise. Consuming a healthy diet can help them have good eye health. So, here are some foods that may help improve eye health.

Eat vitamin-rich food - Some essential vitamins help boost general eye health, in addition, to nourishing us from within. Vitamins A, C, and E have been shown to lessen the risk of cataracts. You can have foods rich in these vitamins.

Manage weight – According to a study, obesity may also impair our eye health and boost pressure inside our eyes. As a result, specialists advise that a balanced diet be adopted in order to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. 

Eat green vegetables - Leaves and vegetables are abundant with healthy nutrients, which support general health, including eye health. As per the studies, leafy greens are high in lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamins, and beta-carotene, which can protect our eyes from UV rays and radiation.

Stay hydrated - The significance of hydration does not require more explanation. Experts emphasize the importance of drinking enough water regularly to avoid dehydration, which can affect our eyes.

Quit smoking - Smoking can cause changes in the eyes and lead to vision loss. Smokers are two to three times more likely than non-smokers to acquire eye issues such as cataracts. Hence, we should quit smoking for better eye health.
