It also contains antioxidants that prevent or reduce the risk of developing colorectal cancer. Various studies suggest that purple-fleshed sweet potato has properties that can help to fight cancers.

Promotes healthy skin – Vitamin C and vitamin E are very useful for skin and hair. Vitamin C helps in collagen synthesis that is the main structural protein of the skin. Vitamin A is essential in the treatment and management of sun-damaged skin, and it also stimulates collagen synthesis.

Minimizes the risk of heart health - Fibers and antioxidants present in sweet potatoes help decrease the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Studies suggest that high levels of anthocyanin in the purple sweet potato help lower the chances of coronary disease.
