Aakash Healthcare goes a step ahead: Movie Shows and Weekend Family Drives for doctors and nurses – Where work-life balance meets fun!

An initiative to Address Mental Health challenges for healthcare workers.

Research indicates that 60% of healthcare professionals experience high levels of stress due to the demanding nature of their work. Doctors and nurses, in particular, face long hours, emotionally draining situations, and high-stakes decisions that directly impact lives. The ongoing pressure, coupled with the lack of sufficient breaks, can lead to burnout, anxiety, and emotional fatigue.

Studies have shown that healthcare workers are twice as likely to suffer from mental health issues compared to the general population. The global pandemic further amplified these challenges, with increased patient loads and critical care demands pushing stress levels to an all-time high. These professionals dedicate their lives to healing others, often at the cost of their own mental health.

In response to these ongoing challenges, Aakash Healthcare’s new policies aim to alleviate stress and promote holistic well-being.

“Our people are our greatest asset, and at Aakash Healthcare, we strive to create an environment where they can flourish both professionally and personally,” said Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, Managing Director of Aakash Healthcare. “Our new initiatives reflect our commitment to mental well-being, ensuring our team can thrive in a balanced and supportive work culture.”

As part of its continued efforts to foster a work environment where mental well-being takes center stage, Aakash Healthcare is launching a set of unique employee-friendly policies designed to promote work-life balance and joy in the workplace. The hospital is proud to announce these initiatives as part of its World Mental Health Initiative on October 10th.

A star-studded celebration awaits! Renowned singer Ms. Shibani Kashyap will be performing an exclusive unplugged session to serenade doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, while Ravi Gupta, standup comedian, will bring laughter to the event with a special act dedicated to our hardworking healthcare professionals.

“It’s important to recognize that a happy, healthy workplace is essential for optimum performance,” said Vikas Chawla, VP HR, Aakash Healthcare. “Our new policies and well-being initiatives aim to make Aakash Healthcare not just a great place to work but the best place to work.”

The hospital’s new employee-centric policies include:

  • Table Tennis, Carom, and Foosball: Promoting short recreational breaks to refresh and re-energize.
  • Relaxation Zones: Comfortable seating areas with couches to unwind and relax during work hours.
  • Library: Encouraging personal growth through books and a peaceful space for learning.
  • On-Site Counselor: Offering mental health support for all staff at any time, with the hashtag #Helpisavailable or #Supportishere.
  • Family Drive Weekends: A company car will be available every Saturday for employees to enjoy family outings. #FamilyDrivesWeekend
  • Departmental Fun Activity Budget: Every department gets an annual budget for fun team bonding activities.
  • Saturday Movie Shows: Weekly Saturday movie screenings for the entire team and their families from 1 to 5 pm. #UnwindSaturdays

Aligned with the World Mental Health Day theme, this initiative—developed with Impact PR—highlights the importance of mental health in the workplace, aiming to create an environment where employees’ well-being is prioritized.

Let’s celebrate together at Aakash Healthcare and spread the message that #MentalHealthMatters because Healthy Minds Lead to Healthy Hearts!
