This problem occurs when the infection-fighting chemicals in our blood trigger inflammation in the body and cause irritation. When there is an infection in the blood, many changes are seen in the body. 

Blood infection may cause fever, allergies, stomach related problems and many after effects are seen on its health.  This may negatively affect many organs in the body, as well as causes problem in their functions. Along with proper treatment, there is a need to take special care of your diet when there is an infection in the blood. Eating right is very important in case of blood infection.

  • Eat citrus fruits rich in vitamin C like gooseberry, lemon, orange, strawberry, broccoli, etc.
  • Vitamin D-rich foods like milk, fish and eggs, etc. Also, try to spend some time in the sun.
  • Probiotics such as yogurt, buttermilk, kefir, kombucha, kimchi, pickles, tempeh, etc.
  • Antioxidants-rich foods like green tea, turmeric, dark chocolate, blueberries, strawberries, beans, beet, etc.
  • Foods are rich in beta-carotene such as carrots, spinach, kale, cantaloupe, apricots, sweet potatoes, squash, root vegetables, and greens.
  • Vitamin E-rich foods like avocado and spinach, nuts and seeds, green leafy vegetables, and greens.

What should not be eaten in blood infection 

  • Do not eat raw fruits and vegetables, always eat them only after cooking or steaming them
  • Raw meat should not be eaten, always eat cooked meat
  • Unpasteurized dairy products should not be consumed
  • Avoid eating pasteurized eggs or raw eggs
  • Sea foods like fish should never be eaten raw.
  • Avoid consuming hot drinks like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
