The scientific journal Digital Diagnostics has witnessed a significant increase in the number of publications by foreign authors in 2024, doubling the figures from previous years. This year, the journal published 16 articles authored by international contributors, compared to an average of 7 articles annually in prior years. Currently, the journal collaborates with authors from six different countries.
Yuri Vasilev, the chief consultant for radiology at the Moscow Healthcare Department and CEO of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine, remarked that in 2024, their journal had expanded its international reach, as Indian scientists were contributing articles for the first time. He noted that India, as a member of the BRICS nations, was part of an international organization with which they were actively collaborating. He expressed the belief that extensive international cooperation and experience exchange would significantly enhance scientific development in their respective countries. He further noted that the journal's total of 16 foreign articles this year marks a substantial increase from the 7 papers published in 2022 and 2021. Notably, Italy contributed 13 papers focused on clinical cases and scientific reviews, while Indian researchers presented original studies in teleradiology, which are considered valuable contributions to the field.
In 2024, two significant articles from Indian authors were published: “Radiological assessment of pulmonary vascular changes and gastrointestinal changes in patients with COVID-19 referred to a tertiary health care center in Chennai, India: a prospective cross-sectional study” and “Role of teleradiology in the interpretation of ultrasound images acquired in the emergency setting.” These works were produced by research teams from Image Core Lab and Mahatma Gandhi.
This year, the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine has actively built contacts with colleagues from BRICS countries. The Center's staff participated in the International Municipal Forum of BRICS countries and attended a specialized healthcare exhibition in New Delhi titled India Health. Additionally, delegations from four BRICS countries—China, India, Iran, and South Africa—visited the Centre.
