The Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, a renowned healthcare institution committed to providing exceptional medical services, hosted a remarkable cycling marathon, with 375 participants from the Delhi NCR region coming together for a 21-kilometer and 10-kilometer race.
The event aimed at encouraging fitness and raising health awareness in the community. Dr. N. K. Pandey, Chairman of Asian Hospital, flagged off the races, with Director Anupam Pandey, Director of International Patient Services Neha Pandey, and several other hospital officials present to show their support.
The marathon featured two categories: the 21KM cycling competition, which took participants through picturesque locations like Taj Vivanta Hotel and Kant Enclave, and the 10KM race starting from Anangpur and returning to the hospital. The event was well-supported by nursing staff, ambulances, physiotherapists, and multiple water and juice counters placed along the route to ensure participants' safety and comfort.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from people of all ages, ranging from 10 to 76 years old. The competition was divided into two age groups: one for individuals aged 10 to 40 years and another for those aged 40 to 76 years. There were also both male and female categories in each age group. Participants were given T-shirts, medals, tracking chips to monitor their time, and refreshments.
Dr. N. K. Pandey, Chairman of Asian Hospital, spoke about the success of the event, stating, "It is truly encouraging to see so many people from Delhi NCR actively participating and taking their health seriously. This event is not just a competition, but a step towards raising health awareness in our community. Asian Hospital will continue to organize such initiatives to promote a healthier lifestyle."
The winners of both the 21KM and 10KM competitions were awarded cash prizes. In the 21KM race, the top prizes in each category were given to the first, second, and third place winners, with ₹15,000 for first, ₹10,000 for second, and ₹5,000 for third. This applied to both the male and female categories, as well as two age groups: 16-40 years and 40 and above. In the 10KM race, the top three winners were also awarded cash prizes, with ₹10,000 for first place, ₹7,000 for second, and ₹5,000 for third. The prize distribution highlighted the competitive spirit and enthusiasm of the participants across all age groups.
