In Gujarat, five patients died in a fire that broke out in the ICU of private Covid hospital in Rajkot late last night. The fire broke out in Uday Shivanand Covid Hospital in the Mavdi area of Rajkot.

In Gujarat, five patients died in a fire that broke out in the ICU of private Covid hospital in Rajkot late last night. The fire broke out in Uday Shivanand Covid Hospital in the Mavdi area of Rajkot, where about 33 covid patients were admitted for treatment.

Six persons have been rescued with burns injuries and admitted to the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government hospital. Other patients have been evacuated from the fire and shifted to the nearby hospital.
 

According to fire brigade officials, a fire broke out on the second floor of the ICU due to a short circuit in the medical equipment.
 
Meanwhile, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced a high-level inquiry into the incident. Additional Chief Secretary of State Government, A.K.Rakesh will conduct the inquiry. Chief Minister Rupani also expressed grief over the death of the people and announced 4 lakh rupees to the kin of each victim. 


Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to fire in a Rajkot hospital, Gujarat.

He said, his thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones in the tragedy and prayed for quick recovery of the injured. The Prime Minister said that the administration is ensuring all possible assistance to those affected.
