This is for the fitness aficionados. Those who indulge in hard workouts to get that perfectly chiselled body, need to recover from it quickly too keep up the intensity and the enthusiasm.

All the hard work can come to a naught if you fail to recover from your killer session, and it better be sooner than later, as your body will take time to recover. Following are a few ways you can rejuvenate quickly after an intense workout.

Adequate hydration : Drink adequate amount of water to flush out toxins from your system. Did you know that 2% of dehydration is enough to reduce your energy level by 10%. Remember, your body needs water to function, to joints lubricated.

Stress reduction : Intense training leaves you stressed out, but it’s good stress.  Any form of chronic stress takes a toll on your body, its functioning, and its capacity to take on anything further.  Take steps to ensure that you make a quick comeback. Be happy and surround yourself with people who love and support you.

Give yourself a break : Rest days give your body and muscles the much required respite from hard work. Take short naps which is good for you heart, blood pressure, stress levels, and even weight management. Go for shopping, ride a bike, watch a movie, or do mobility drills to promote recovery.

Eat healthy : Post-workout meal is most important for faster recovery after a gruelling session. Have carb and protein rich diet. Your body will be hungry for such food to restore energy levels, and these would act as a catalyst to recovery.
