In a progressive measure to the arrest the growth the Coronavirus cases, India has temporarily barred the entry of travellers from 36 countries and in corollary to those passengers from another 11 countries will be mandatorily quarantined, the Home Ministry said on Wednesday. The ministry further said Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders, except for the restricted countries, are going to be required to get a fresh visa from the Indian mission to enter India. Passenger from Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom will not be flown in, a home ministry spokesperson said.
Airlines are also barred from bringing passengers from Philippines, Malaysia and Afghanistan.
