Marijuana oil has medicinal properties

▴ Marijuana oil
Now legally available in India, the oil is said to have pain-relieving properties.

Little does anyone know that the cannabis, reputed for its psychoactive components, also contains a component that has medical use. CBD aka cannabidiol, is one such component.

The component has nothing that can give you a high. On the contrary, its oil form is gaining popularity over the last few years for its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. It is therefore now prescribed to patients of arthritis and other chronic joint and muscular pains.

Moreover, it is also widely used in the skincare industry for its anti-ageing and acne-fighting properties. There is more. In western countries the oil is used to treat sleep disorders such as insomnia. Doctors and scientists are divided on the use of CBD in cases of anxiety and panic attacks, since there are medicines and therapies available.

Believe it or not, CBD is thought to alleviate pain in patients in advanced stage of cancer. A Harvard University study says CBD is highly effective on treating childhood epilepsy syndromes such as Dravet syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, which do not respond to anti-seizure medications.
