The actors urge pleople to stop fake news; Take a stand to stop violence against medical staff

Actor Shilpa Shetty joining Raveena Tandon’s #JeetegaIndiaJeetengeHum campaign on social media, on Monday shared a video in which she urged people to treat healthcare workers with respect. Shilpa also appealed people to raise their voice to stop acts of violence against medical staffs, who are in the frontlines, fighting against the steady spread of Coronavirus.

The caption in the video says, “Thank you, my dear, @officialraveenatandon for nominating me and making me a part of this amazing initiative of yours. To all my fellow citizens, please look out and stand up for the warriors who are tirelessly working round the clock to keep our community safe. It’s a humble request to please treat these heroes with respect, debunk myths & false rumours, and stop the spread of fake news at your own levels. Let’s do our bit too! It’s time to stand united against this pandemic. I nominate @shamitashetty_official and @farahkhankunder to take this cause forward.”

Raveena started a campaign on social media, urging people to take a stand for healthcare workers. She also pleaded to people to stop peddling fake news, lest it fuels violence against medical professionals.

“#jeetegaindia #jeetenge hum #jeetegaindiajeetengehum #thankyou #medicalcommunity I nominate @sonu_sood @theshilpashetty @thejohnabraham Friends,As we come together to fight the challenges posed by the Coronavirus Pandemic,I would like you to think of all those doctors, nurses and health-workers, quietly working with diligence and dignity, away from their homes and families,so that our present and future remains secure,” she wrote.

Referring to the multiple incidents across India of violence against medical staffs including doctors, Raveena added, “Lately we have all heard unfortunate reports of our healthcare workers being harassed and attacked. This is a tragic happening we must all confront together. Please do not fall prey to fake news and false rumours, which may fuel violence against our medical community.”
