Jharkhand Cabinet on Wednesday affirmed the Jharkhand Contagious Disease Ordinance under which punishment up to Rs 1 lakh and a prison term of as long as two years can be forced against violators of measures set up to forestall the spread of COVID-19.
Anybody not wearing covers openly places and spitting in broad daylight can be charged under the new law.
The state has revealed 6,485 coronavirus cases including 3,397 cases and 64 passings.
