In Spain, the death toll soared to over 4,800 on Friday after 769 people died in past 24 hours. Spain trails with a very narrow difference after Italy’s death toll and has lost 4,858 lives, while the total number of cases takes a leap to 64,059. The figures indicated a daily increase of nearly 8,000 new infections and this is due to the country’s dramatic increase in its rate of testing and trying procuring millions of kits from across the globe.
The rate of infections appear inversely proportional with this increase as it registers, 14 per cent rise unlike 18 percent on Thursday. Simon however doesn’t see the hospital easing out so soon the ‘and could even increase in the coming three, four or five days’.
