Since childhood, we have been hearing that drinking milk makes us strong. Milk is recommended to people of all age groups. It is very good for our health. But in the summer, most people start avoiding milk or look for other good alternatives. Many times, people get confused with hot or cold milk, as to which milk is suitable for summer? So, let’s know what kind of milk you should drink, hot or cold milk in summer, and the right time and way to have it.

Milk is beneficial for all of us. Those who are afraid of gaining fat should also drink toned milk. One should never stop drinking milk no matter what the weather, be it summer or winter, or rainy. You just need to change the way you drink it according to the weather.

  1. Starting your day with a glass of milk provides energy to your body throughout the day. In summer, you can have cold milk or milkshakes in place of hot milk.
  2. Remember, don’t consume milk on an empty stomach. Doing so can deteriorate your health. First, have something light and then drink milk. Adding some nuts to the milk enhances its flavor, taste and nutrition such as almond milk.
  3. If you are a gymmer, then the right time to drink milk is half an hour post-workout. It nourishes your body and supplies all the required nutrition that is lost during the workout. If you feel dehydrated while exercising in summer, then you can drink cold milk at that time. By drinking cold milk, there will be no shortage of water in your body. The best time to drink cold milk is in the morning.
  4. If you are suffering from cold and flu, avoid drinking cold milk. You can have lukewarm milk instead of hot. Doctors also feel that lukewarm milk digests fast as compared to hot milk.
  5. Milk is rich in lactose which takes time to digest. Many times, its consumption also causes stomach pain, indigestion, and acidity problems. You should drink cold milk to avoid acidity.
  6. Certain foods and drinks if taken on an empty stomach can be harmful to one's health. Their consumption increases the level of acid in the body. The saturated fat and protein present in milk weaken the abdominal muscles, hence milk should never be consumed on an empty stomach.
  7. One can have slightly warm milk at night before going to bed. Lactose gets reduced in slightly warm milk thus it prevents problems like diarrhea and indigestion. This also aids in good night sleep.
