In cognizance with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe the International Olympic Committee have decided to postpone the upcoming Tokyo Olympics till the summer of 2021, the prime minister's office officially declared on Tuesday.
The 2020 Summer Olympics was originally scheduled to start from July 24, but organisers responding to the scaling pressure to postpone or cancel the Games amid Coronavirus pandemic, they decided to postpone it for a year. Abe, the frontrunner for Tokyo's selection as the host city -- and Bach jointly decided to reschedule the games to a date beyond 2020 but certainly not beyond summer 2021.
