TREAD One - The Peloton of India

Bengaluru based TREAD has revolutionised home-based fitness with its innovative product. Learn more about this fitness startup.

Hardly any of us would be unaware of the benefits of working out. From chronic diseases like hypertension, stroke, osteoporosis and diabetes to mental disorders like anxiety, stress and depression, there is nothing a regular workout cannot cure. Without exercise, our body is more prone to falling ill and having a slower recovery to illnesses.

But for a long while, fitness in India meant going to the gym or for walks. There was no innovative answer that encouraged home-based workouts, especially when the pandemic induced lockdown was on. Then entered Dinesh Godara’s venture TREAD Fitness in 2020 with the ‘Fit India’ initiative. It revolutionised home workout with its product TREAD One.

This is the Peloton of India that integrated fitness hardware with technological software. It was a one-stop solution to hardware, software and content. The spin bike will not only help in cardio and spinning workouts but also in strength training and yoga. Making it a complete solution for its users.

With their product, they also offer gamified experience. One can choose to live stream their workout, enter in workout competitions and even participate in virtual tournaments. This can help motivate and make your journey to achieve fitness goals a lot more fun. But if competition isn’t your thing, you can simply enjoy your workout with scenic views from Hawaii or France.

In 2020, they raised $1.1 million in their pre-seed round. Numerous investors like, Roman Saini, Hemesh Singh and Gaurav Munjal (of Unacademy); Kunal Shah (of CRED); Sujeet Kumar (of Udaan); Sai Srinivas and Shubh Malhotra (of Mobile Premier League); Amrish Rau (of Citrus Pay); Jitendra Gupta (of Jupiter) and Phanindra Sama (of redBus). among others.

Other investors were Whiteboard Capital, FirstCheque, Better Capital and Stanford Angel. This year, Cure.fit’s fitness platform, Cult.fit, acquired TREAD for an undisclosed amount. The deal helps TREAD to receive help in customer reach from Cult.fit.

Will such immersive workout products from TREAD help Indians to integrate workouts into their daily lives helping TREAD achieve their initiative of a ‘Fit India’?
