World Spine Day is celebrated on October 16 to inform people about the struggles faced by spinal pain and its disability. The day seeks to promote the overall health and wellbeing of one’s spine. The day is organized by the World Federation of Chiropractic. 

Back pain and other spinal pains are now common in both old and young people. Back pain is a serious issue as it can make any person bed-ridden for days and even for years. Many are suffering from spine issues like Herniated Disc, Scoliosis, Whiplash, and Muscle strain.

Dr. Vikas informs, “The tips for the healthy back are as follows- 

A healthy diet can help keep the backbone strong and mobile  Intake of calcium can help with osteoporosis  Plant-based protein in lentils have good metabolic activity and prevent spine degeneration  Broccoli, kale, and spinach have anti-inflammatory properties, Salmon, seafood is healthy for joints to keep bones strong  Dairy products with high calcium products  Spices and herbs  Fruits."

Home remedies for back pain 

Dr. Vikas says, “The home remedies to prevent back pain - 

Maintain proper posture at work and home  Continuous standing should be avoided in a single place Take a break after 30 mins of continuously staying in the same position  Bend forward and stretch a little Keep mental stress on the lower side  Do exercises as per your stamina  Yoga therapies  Swimming and cycling can help  Nutrition  Avoid improper posture which increases the load of the spine."
