BJP Ahmedabad MLA test positive with Coronavirus

BJP’s Ahmedabad city president is among the 247 who tested positive within the city on Thursday. With this Ahmedabad crossed 12,000-mark.

The state overall reported 361 cases on Thursday and 19 died, of which 16 were in Ahmedabad, taking the price within the state to 964. The state tally stands at 15,593. Among the 247 who tested positive in Ahmedabad, six were from the agricultural areas while others were from the AMC jurisdiction. BJP president of Ahmedabad city, Jagdish Panchal (46), who is also MLA from Nikol, is currently admitted at Apollo hospital in Ahmedabad.

Panchal was symptomatic for the past few days and thus had himself tested earlier in the week. Panchal said that as a precaution to see the spread of the infection in his family, he's quarantining himself at Apollo Hospital. From the AMC jurisdiction, nearly 40 tested positive from the Amraiwadi area, 14 from Odhav area, nine from Vastral, and 12 others from one residential society In Vejalpur. For the list of positive patients declared Thursday, samples for many were taken last week, between May 21 and 23. Yesterday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Sambit Patra has been admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram. It is being told that he has been admitted to the hospital after showing symptoms of corona in the concerned Patra. On Patra's hospitalization, BJP leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia and Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga tweeted and wished him a speedy recovery. Sambit Patra is counted among the fiercest spokespersons of the BJP. He is also active on social media. According to news agency PTI, symptoms of corona have been found in the concerned Patra.

BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted that Sambit Patra wishes for a speedy recovery. At the same time, Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga also wished the BJP spokesperson to recover soon.

Significantly, so far in India, more than 1 lakh 58 thousand people have been affected by Corona and more than 4500 people have also died. At the same time, more than 67 thousand people have been cured of this disease so far. In the last 24 hours in the country, the number of 6566 Corona-infected increased and 194 patients died.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also tried his hand in the Lok Sabha elections held last year. He contested from Puri Lok Sabha seat in Odisha. Despite the Modi wave, Sambit Patra lost to Pinaki Mishra of the Biju Janata Dal. However, there was a collision between the two. Pinaki Mishra won by a margin of fewer than 12 thousand votes.

 Earlier Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad who was tested positive for Coronavirus recovered after staying admitted to a hospital in Mumbai for quite a fortnight.
