Coronavirus Maharashtra Update : 107 passengers screened, one person each in Pune and Miraj under observation

Till date 12 thousand passengers are screened at the Mumbai International Airport and the search for passengers visiting from the Corona virus affected areas is on through the regional surveys. A total of 107 passengers arrived in the state from the affected regions. Out of them, 21 of them have symptoms like Fever, cold and cough and they were admitted to various isolated hospitals across the state.

Out of them, the samples of 20 persons were found negative and the report of one more is not yet received. Probably the lab report will be received till tomorrow. 19 out of 21 such persons had been discharged from the hospitals. Presently one person in Naidu hospital at Pune and another at Government Medical College at Miraj are admitted.

As per the directions of the union government, all the passengers coming from Wuhan city are admitted to hospitals and the policy for their laboratory test is been implemented in the state. The follow up of passengers coming from other affected areas is taken for continuously 14 days. Out of them 107 passengers, 39 were followed up for 14 days. The state public health department had deployed ten medical officers and 15 health employees to assist the health officers as the work of screening the International passengers at the Mumbai Airport has increased.

According to Health Minister Mr Rajesh Tope,The follow-up for passengers from Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nanded, Buldhana, Nagpur, Wardha, Sangli and Ahmednagar districts coming to India from China and other affected area is on. Their medical enquiry is in process on the backdrop of Corona virus. Presently, one person each in Pune and Miraj hospitals are under observation and 19 persons are discharged from the hospitals.
