-Healthcare gets a boost

Rs 69,000 crore has been allocated for the healthcare sector," the Finance Minister said. "By 2030, India is set to have the largest working-age population in the world. Dialogues with state education ministers are being held... Urban local bodies across the country will give internship to fresh engineers. Young engineers who want to work with the government can start with urban local engineers," she added.

- Ayushman Bharat gets new partners

Hospitals to be set up in PPP (public-private partnership) mode for better treatment under Ayushman Bharat (health insurance) scheme. More hospitals will be empanelled. "TB harega, desh jitega (tuberculosis will lose, the country will win," Ms Sitharaman said.

-Clean air programme

Clean air is a matter of concern in large cities; Rs 4,400 crore to run programmes for clean air.

- Funds for the nutrition of girls and women
To improve the national nutritional status of girls and women, more than six lakh Anganwadi workers are equipped with smartphones to upload the nutritional status of 10 crore households.
