Telangana is the largest percentage of meat/fish-consuming states in India with more than 98% of its population consuming it: Experts

Telangana has the 3rd largest inland water spread. It is also the fifth-largest state in India in terms of freshwater fish production, valued at Rs 6100 crore: Experts

The organisers draw inspiration from the EuroTier expo in Germany; the World Dairy Expo in the United States and the Seafood Expo Global in Belgium to offer the best of all the three sectors

Disclosing this in a press note issued in the city today, Hitex and Aqua Farming Technologies and Solutions (AFTS), the joint hosts said, the motto is to bring the whole livestock, dairy & fisheries ecosystem under one roof in order to enable knowledge transfer which in turn facilitates the all-around growth of the sector.

The three-day Business-to-business event will feature over 200 exhibitors from across the world. It will offer a diverse range of products and services, complemented by live demonstrations of processing and value-addition techniques.

Given India's global leadership in livestock, fish production, and dairy consumption, LDF INDIA assumes the role of a catalyst for innovation, progress, and sustainability adds Mr. TG Srikanth, Business Head of Hitex.

NFDB (National Fisheries Development Board), which recognizes its significance in promoting sustainable fisheries development is part of the exhibition. NABARD (National Bank for Agricultural & Rural Development), which is committed to sustainable agriculture and resource optimization, is perfectly aligned with LDF INDIA's objectives. APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), the apex-Export Trade Promotion Active government body and the Government of Telangana are also partners in this event.

Visitors of diverse backgrounds such as buyers, sellers, marine product growers and processors, Farmers, Retailers and Distributors, and Industry Professionals are expected to visit and participate in the expo.   Visitors to the expo can explore the latest advancements in sourcing, processing technology, logistics, warehousing, packaging, equipment, and technology, ensuring they stay at the forefront of industry trends.

There will be ample scope to gain expert Insights via seminars and workshops, which will be conducted by industry experts to provide valuable insights into the latest technologies and industry trends. Awards and recognitions are planned for companies for their excellence and innovation.

Both states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh together have very good potential.  Telangana is number one in livestock population.  One-third of egg production in India happens here.  We are also equally good in fisheries.  Because of this strong base, the organizers have chosen Hyderabad to host this event.

India's animal protein trade, processing, technology, machinery and equipment, retail, logistics cold-chain industries etc. will take part in the expo added Srikanth T. G Srikanth Business Head of Hitex, one of the organizers of the expo.

Telangana is the largest percentage of meat/fish consuming state with more than 98% of its population consuming it.  Telangana also has the unique advantage of the 3rd largest inland water spread. It is also the fifth-largest state in India in terms of freshwater fish production, valued at Rs 6100 crore for the year 2022-203 which is almost three-fold growth compared to the year 2017-2018.

The state has been attracting a lot of investments in this sector.  The world's largest integrated freshwater Aqua Hub was proposed to be constructed near Mid Manair Dam in Rajanna Sircilla District.

FreshtoHome, the world's largest fully integrated e-commerce platform for fresh fish, meat and seafood to invest Rs 1000 crore in Telangana

Telangana Government is gearing up to release a staggering 85.6 core fishlings and an additional 10 crore shrimp seedings this year added TG Srikanth.

India’s livestock, dairy and fisheries sectors are very promising and contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth. India’s livestock industry accounts for approximately 4.11 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and its ecosystem is vibrant and diverse, providing employment to more than 22 million people. The fishing industry also plays a key role, accounting for approximately 1.07 per cent of the gross national product and employing approximately 14 million people, added Mr. Venu Dantuluri, CEO, of Aqua Farming Technology Solutions

The organisers have drawn inspiration from the EuroTier expo in Germany that set international standards for innovations in animal production; the World Dairy Expo in the United States which emerged as a premier event, featuring top-notch dairy cattle, the latest in dairy farming equipment, and a platform for knowledge sharing.  On the fisheries front, the Seafood Expo Global in Belgium has been a global gathering for seafood professionals, facilitating trade, and unveiling new seafood products and processing solutions.
