In Mizoram, the state government has decided to observe 'COVID-19 - No Tolerance Fortnight' beginning from 26th October as a containment measure to flatten the curve of Covid-19 in the state.
The decision was taken yesterday in a meeting chaired by the Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana to assess the COVID-19 situation in the state.
Dr. R. Lalthangliana said that the state government has accorded zero tolerance policy to flouting any COVID-19 containment measures being implemented and enforced. He added that all Unlock Guidelines, all SOPs and all sections of the Mizoram Containment and Prevention of COVID-19 Ordinance, 2020 will be enforced very strictly.
The meeting expressed concern over the opening of some classes (Class X and XII) in schools and also the increased vehicular traffic in Aizawl city and suggested that these need to be reviewed in a more detailed manner.
