Stunning interesting facts about nutrition that you may not be aware of

Good nutrition is a key that unlocks the lock to a healthy life. Eating food is a necessity but eating intelligently is an art. So, let us know some astonishing facts about nutrition.

Every type of malnutrition poses serious risks to human health. Undernutrition and overweight are both major causes of malnutrition in today's world, particularly in low- and middle-income nations. Getting the food and nourishment you require for your health and growth is termed nutrition.

A vital component of health and development is nutrition. Stronger immune systems, safer pregnancies and deliveries, a decreased risk of non-communicable diseases (like diabetes and cardiovascular disease), and longer life spans are all associated with better nutrition.

According to the World Health Organisation “Case fatality rate among SAM (severe acute malnutrition), children receiving inpatient treatment based on WHO protocol ranged from 3.4% to 35%. 10 billion children in India suffer from SAM. This means that the case fatality rate of 3.4%–35% would translate into 340 000 to 3.5 million deaths among under-five children in India.”

More than 40 different types of nutrients can be found in food, and they are typically divided into the following 7 parts Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals, Dietary fiber and water. Your body will be able to absorb nutrients properly if you consume them through food. To obtain various vitamins and minerals, try to eat a variety of foods. Fruits and vegetables are among the foods that are naturally high in nutrients.

A healthy, balanced diet can help you feel your best and is essential for maintaining good health. To achieve and maintain healthy body weight,  eating a variety of foods in the right proportions and consuming the appropriate amounts of food and liquids is mandatory. Furthermore, there are applications available for tracking nutritional values.

Facts about nutrition

  • Added Sugar should be avoided
  • Omega-3 Fats are crucial and most people don’t get enough of it
  • Artificial Trans Fats are very unhealthy
  • Eating vegetables will improve an individual’s health significantly
  • Intake of Vitamin D is a must
  • Supplements can never fully replace real foods
  • Diets won't work without applying a lifestyle change
  • A well-planned balanced diet works the best

Without nourishment, our bodies deteriorate physically and eventually get ill. We fall short of developmental milestones and are unable to subject our bodies to the necessary daily mental and physical strain. Hence it is very important to keep a check on the nutritional values of daily intake to live a healthy life.
