The Information & Broadcasting Ministry is coming up with laudable efforts to gear up awareness among the masses of West Bengal about this deadly disease and how to remain away from it.

Regarding Covid, India is in a better situation due to the efforts of every Indian in the last 7-8 months but one should not let it deteriorate. The festive season  starts,  but people must not to be callous, amidst all these efforts and not to assume that the corona virus is gone, or that there is no danger from the corona now. The Information & Broadcasting Ministry is coming up with laudable efforts to gear up awareness among the masses of West Bengal about this deadly disease and how to remain away from it. Press Information Bureau, Kolkata and  the Regional Outreach Bureau of the Ministry, more particularly, the Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) office, Chuchura  organised  a webinar on Prime Minister’s call to start a Jana Andolan for disseminating news to stay well in Festive session on 20th October. The theme was  “To Stay Well in Festive Session”.

Swami Satyeshananda, Assistant General Secretary, Ramkrishna Math and Ramkrishna Mission, Belur Math said that every year lots of disciples gather at Belur Math to attend the Puja. But due to Covid situation, it is not possible for them to allow visitors this year. The positive side is people also agree to follow the decision but the disciples can attend the puja virtually.


Dr Parvin Banu, Assistant Professor, Calcutta National Medical College said that everyone should obey the rules of public health during this pandemic. Since there is a chance of Covid spreading from large gathering, so she advised to stay at home during the upcoming festive days. 


Sri Banibrata Banerjee, President, FD Block Puja Committee, Salt lake informed that they  organize the Puja with obeying all the Government instructions. The committee takes necessary steps so that like previous years, this time also, people will get “Prasad” and “Bhog”. Even they will organize the online cultural programme. Beside this, Banerjee said that they will arrange stalls outside the Pandel where  poor and marginalized people can sell Face Mask. 

 

Journalist Tapas Chakraborty said that the media should play proper role in this situation, so that people will not be panicked and get ideas to prevent this pandemic. He also gave some suggestions regarding this issue.


Smt Mitun Bose, Assistant Director, CINI, said that people should follows Prime Minister’s suggestion: to maintain the 6 feet distance (Do Gaj ki Doori), to wash their hands with soap periodically and to wear face masks. But at the same time she told that for the poor village people it is very difficult for them to effort Hand Sanitizer, because many of them lost their job due to Lockdown.


Smt Chitra Gupta, Deputy Director, PIB Kolkata and Sri Sandipon Dasgupta ,FPO, FOB Chuchura conducted the webinar .
