Get started with a check-up

Regular dental checkups are essential to keep cavities at bay. You shouldn't wait to see the dentist until your baby gets a cavity. Take your child to a dentist as soon as his first tooth appears. Early prevention of your child's oral health saves you both money and time for care.

Pay attention to the cleanliness of the child's mouth

Clean your child's mouth every day. If the baby does not have teeth, then wipe the gums every time after feeding them. To clean your newborn's delicate gums, wrap a wet cloth around your finger and wipe it carefully, do not put too much pressure on the gums.

Don't forget to give a bottle to the baby while sleeping

When your baby is about to go to sleep, do not give a bottle full of juice and milk. Sugar-filled fluids will stick to their teeth and this can lead to tooth decay. You can give your child a bottle full of water to take to bed. Avoid even habits that comfort your child.

Keep an eye on sweet medicines

Children's medicines are usually flavored and sweet. When a child consumes these types of medicines, they can also stick to the teeth and this increases the chances of getting a cavity.
