Hyderabad, January 9, 2025: The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's Amritapuri campus, in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, is organizing the International Gender Tech Conference from January 16 at Amrita.
The conference, hosted at the Amritapuri campus, will be inaugurated by Dr. Amandeep Gill, United Nations Tech Envoy and Under-Secretary-General. The four-day international conference will feature various sessions with eminent personalities, including Dr. Tim Curtis, Director of UNESCO South Asia Regional Office; Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, Advisor to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India; and Uma Mahadevan, Additional Chief Secretary, Karnataka.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Society on Social Implications of Technology (IEEE-SSIT) and the SSIT Kerala Chapter are among the other key sponsors of the international conference.
As part of the conference, an international hackathon was conducted, which saw participation from over 250 individuals. Out of approximately 600 registrants, 45 selected teams participated in the event. In addition to the mega hackathon, the conference will host a variety of events, including keynote speeches, workshops, and interactive sessions at the Amritapuri campus.
