Maharashtra Government decides to restrict timings of grocery shops

The grocery shops in Maharashtra will remain open from 7 am to 11 am

The Maharashtra Government has decided to restrict the timings of grocery shops. Now grocery shops in the state will only remain open from 7 am to 11 am. Even after strict restrictions, many citizens are found roaming around in the name of grocery purchase. Hence, the state government has imposed these new restrictions.

In order to increase oxygen availability, the state government has instructed all the district administrations to establish oxygen production plants. All the rights in this regard are given to them. Kolhapur and Thane districts have established oxygen concentration plants in various hospitals using oxygen available in the air. Mumbai is planning to have the same in near future. All other administrations have been asked to follow the procedure and rates adopted by these administrations.

Besides this, it is also advised to look at options of procuring oxygen from various industries like paper, petroleum, fertilisers etc. many industries are not using their oxygen plants, which may be asked to repair and use this oxygen for medical purposes.

Meanwhile, In Maharashtra, 58,924 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded during the last 24 hours. According to the state public health department, 351 patients succumbed to the viral infection.

Over 52,000 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state following their recovery. The case fatality rate in the state stands at 1.56 per cent. The recovery rate of the state is 81.04 per cent.
