Maharashtra reported 8,998 new cases of Coronavirus yesterday, taking the state’s tally of total cases to 21,88,183. According to the State Public Health Department, 6,135 patients were discharged during the day, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,49,484. With 60 fatalities, the state's death toll has risen to 52,340. The number of active cases stands at 85,144.

Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 93.66 per cent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.39 per cent. Currently, 3,91,288 people are in home quarantine and 4,109 people are in institutional quarantine.

With 1,104 new cases, Mumbai’s caseload has increased to 3,29,846. The city reported five deaths during the day taking the death toll to 11,492.
