As you age, you will more often than not find yourself dealing with interrupted sleeping patterns, and getting little or no rest at all. This leads to physical and mental discomfort. Dark circles under the eyes and increase in belly fat are manifestations of this problem.
The solution to all this is a good night’s sleep. Here are a few tips to enjoy that elusive peaceful sleep.
Conducive environment is a must for good sleep. It begins with switching off all the gizmos. Ensure the room is cool and dark. Bright lights disrupts your body’s sleep patterns.
Alcohol will initially make you feel sleepy, but as soon its effect wears off, you might find yourself waking up in the middle of the night. SO avoid alcohol and caffeine before going to sleep.
Before two hours of going to sleep, stop consuming water or any liquids. Or else your sleep will be disturbed by nature’s call, and may be difficult to fall asleep again quickly.
Avoid oversleeping during the day. 10-12 minutes of sleeping during the day is ok, but oversleeping can rob you of your sleep in the night.
