Jitendra Awhad, Maharashtra Housing Minister has tested positive for Coronavirus. 54-year-old Awhad had admitted himself to a privately-run hospital in Thane district for a precautionary check-up after being in home quarantine with family members for a week as one his security staff was tested positive.
It is being assumed that Awhad contracted the virus meeting the police officer, who later was tested positive.

 It is being suspected that NCP MLA from Mumbra-Kalwa constituency is the middle node of a long chain of transmission in Mumbai.
