▴ Nemocare startup
As mentioned in the website of NemoCare, each year 900,000 children under the age of 5 die of pneumonia, 1,000,000 new-borns die due to prematurity and 400,000 new-borns die due to sepsis and other infections. These are all preventable health conditions and this is the space in which NemoCare has been bringing a positive change.

NemoCare has been launched with the purpose to bring an end to all preventable maternal and neonatal deaths. It is dedicated to developing innovative, highly accurate, accessible, and affordable monitoring solutions for emerging markets. This helps in bringing down mortality and morbidity rates. Design thinking principles have been utilized by NemoCare to build life-saving technologies.

NemoCare Raksha

NemoCare Raksha is an unobtrusive wireless wearable device with sensors, networks, analytical algorithms and big data as tools to provide high resolution and continuous preventive care. It can be used in hospitals as well as homes. It is an AI powered decision support system. The new-born is made to wear the solution based device that keeps on monitoring the parameters and successfully detects distress in health conditions. This diagnostic tool is wirelessly connected to a central platform which helps nurses monitor conditions of the baby and get alert signals if any so that immediate action can be taken. It is a portable device and can be used while travelling as well. No expertise in its usage is required.

NemoCare was founded by Pratyusha Pareddy and Manoj Sanker. The blueprint of the startup took shape from a Fellowship in Healthcare Entrepreneurship program at the Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship, Indian Institute of Technology- Hyderabad, of which the founders are alumni. The solution has been received very positively and has tasted success in the forms of awards and accolades. The organization is based in Hyderabad.
